This limited-edition bottling is part of a special project by winemaker Nikos Karavitakis, designed to highlight the raw, elegant potential of Crete’s most emblematic red variety using minimal intervention.
Sourced from old, ungrafted vines in the Pontikiana region of Chania, this 100% Kotsifali is a masterclass in authenticity. The wine is fermented exclusively with indigenous (wild) yeasts to capture the true soul of the terroir. It is bottled unfiltered, often after 14 months of aging in used barrels, preserving its natural texture and vibrant personality. With production limited to just 500 bottles per vintage, it is a true collector’s gem.

Discover the vibrant spirit of Chania with Klima Vidiano, a flagship white wine from the family-run Karavitakis Winery. This label is widely celebrated as one of the top expressions of Vidiano, an indigenous Cretan variety currently experiencing a dynamic global revival.
Sourced from three distinct vineyard sites at varying altitudes across the Chania region, Klima Vidiano captures a diverse range of environmental influences. To preserve its natural freshness, the majority of the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks. A small percentage is carefully aged in barrels and amphorae to add layers of complexity and a refined structure.
